The Baddest Buck in New ZEaland

Spot and Stalk Fallow Buck Hunting

Possessing palmate antlers, a range of color phases, and a street fighting disposition - the mighty Fallow buck is a true New Zealand challenge.

New Zealand Fallow Deer Hunting

Known for their palmate antlers, intelligence, speed, and notorious mean streak – Fallow deer, like all of New Zealand’s large ungulates, were brought over from Europe. They’re widely considered one of the most beautiful deer species in the world!

Fallow deer have been known to duel to the death during the rut (they’ve even been caught bullying larger Red Stags!) and can be heard throughout the hills and valleys as they grunt and croak (like a frog) at one another. Join us for a Fallow buck hunt or add one on to any of our other popular hunting packages – these ‘paddlers’ make for quite a challenge and a beautiful New Zealand trophy.

New Zealand Fallow Deer Hunting Seasons

Fallow buck hunting is available February through early September. Peak Fallow deer hunting occurs during their rut in April and May.

Southern Hunting Adventures Fallow Buck Testimonials

New Zealand Fallow buck hunt Queenstown NZ

I'm an avid hunter, continuously building up my knowledge and experience with each hunt that I go on. Southern Hunting Adventures have hosted me and my hunting friends on a number of different hunting trips over the past 3 years, each trip quite different from the others. Sheldon and the Southern Hunting Adventures team taylor make each hunt to meet the needs (and experience/skills) of the client, and not only provide professional guiding services, but create an all-round hunting experience that is fun and exciting. Whether it's a father/son day trip, or an extended alpine hunt chasing some of the amazing trophies that NZ has to offer, Sheldon and the team are able to access some amazing private and public hunting spots, and provide the best possible chance of a successful hunt.

I would thoroughly recommend Southern Hunting Adventures to anyone interested in a hunt, regardless of their experience or level of skill. Sheldon and the team will ensure a safe and enjoyable experience that, for many, will be remembered as a trip of a lifetime.
